The movie, written by Rakesh Mantodi, who also penned Thira and Godha, tells the story of a 38-year-old guy named Jayesh (played by Vineeth Sreenivasan). He’s a bit of a prude and is on a quest to find a bride who ticks all his boxes. Even when the horoscopes align, he faces a bunch of obstacles that make his search for love even tougher. The film follows his journey through these challenges and whether he’ll eventually meet his perfect match, all wrapped up in a comedic tone.

Alongside Vineeth, the cast features Babu Antony, Nikhila Vimal, Kayadu Lohar, Indu Thampy, Sayonara Philip, Chippy Devassy, and Aishwarya Mithun Koroth in key roles.

Oru Jaathi Jathakan is causing a stir with its jab at the LGBTQ community

A lawsuit has been brought against the creators of Oru Jaathi Jathakam for supposedly “humiliating” and using offensive language towards the LGBTQ community. In the film, Vineeth’s character Jayesh is mistakenly thought to be gay after he calls off his wedding.

According to box office reports from Kerala film producers, Oru Jathi Jaathakam is among the few Malayalam films this year that have successfully recouped their production costs. Meanwhile, Vineeth is preparing to start filming his directorial debut, which is anticipated to be an action movie set partly in Georgia.
