Orange Elephant Studios, in partnership with Dot Media, is poised to transform digital storytelling with the launch of India’s inaugural Vertical Micro Fiction Web Series. Drawing inspiration from the remarkable popularity of K-Dramas and Chinese Micro Fiction applications, this innovative format is tailored for the contemporary digital audience, offering captivating short-form narratives optimized for vertical viewing on smartphones.

The series is crafted by Afroz Khan and Omkar Phatak, who excel in the realm of micro-fiction storytelling. This format necessitates a highly specialized writing approach—capturing attention from the outset, maintaining viewer engagement through unexpected plot twists, and concluding with compelling cliffhangers that leave audiences eager for more. Achieving such storytelling finesse is a notable accomplishment, rendering this series a consumable content piece that is distributed via reels and reaches millions of viewers on Instagram at no cost.

This initiative marks India’s first large-scale Micro Fiction Web Series, developed without the support of brands or advertisers. Show creator Afroz Khan remarked, “Creating content without the constraints of brand sponsorships is a privilege to be cherished whenever possible; it may require self-funding the production, but it allows for creative freedom.”

The cast features Sakshi Keswani, a prominent digital content creator, alongside Akshay Anand Kohli, a seasoned theatre actor and acting coach. Additionally, Kiann and Sakshi Sneh play significant roles in the series.

The show will be exclusively available on Instagram, with Meta supporting the project, thereby reinforcing its importance in India’s digital content landscape. Produced by Purvi Khan, Shubham Singhal, Om Singh, and Vaibhav Pathak, this groundbreaking series is set to redefine the way Indian audiences engage with fiction—one vertical episode at a time.
