At the Indian premiere of My Melbourne, filmmaker Onir expressed his insights regarding his contribution to the anthology, particularly highlighting his segment titled Nandini. This film delves into themes of identity, belonging, and resilience, featuring a compilation of four distinct narratives, each helmed by esteemed Indian directors: Onir, Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali, and Rima Das. My Melbourne tackles a variety of social issues, encompassing LGBTQIA+ rights, disability, gender, and race. The film is set to be released in theaters across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji on March 6, 2025, followed by its release in India on March 14, 2025.

In discussing his segment, Onir remarked, "Nandini is one of the four narratives within My Melbourne. Each tale is directed by a different filmmaker, all situated in Melbourne. The son now lives in Australia. A year following the mother's death, the father journeys to Australia with her ashes, burdened by guilt over his past actions and seeking to repair their fractured relationship."

Onir highlighted the profound emotional journey shared between the father and son, stating, "The narrative centers on the father's efforts to mend their relationship following years of separation. It is a story about the restoration of a fractured bond."

The filmmaker further contemplated the importance of recognition and appreciation for the film, remarking, "While accolades and appreciation hold significant value, the true measure lies in the audience's reaction. I sincerely hope that viewers connect with the film as deeply as we did during its creation."

"My Melbourne" is an anthology film composed of four distinct segments, each directed by different filmmakers, that delve into essential themes such as LGBTQIA+ rights, disability, gender, and race.
