We had earlier reported that there are chances that actor Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Telugu film Lucky Baskhar which was scheduled to release on September 7, might get delayed. Now, on Tuesday, the makers officially announced the film’s new release date. Lucky Bhaskar will come for the occasion of Diwali, on October 31.

Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in a cameo appearance as Captain, in director Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD. Up next, the actor will be playing the titular role in the Telugu film Lucky Bhaskar. While the film was earlier scheduled to release on September 7, there had been strong speculations that the film’s release would be postponed.

On Tuesday, the makers of Lucky Bhaskar announced the new releasee date. It will arrive for Diwali on October 31. Taking the anticipation for the film into consideration, the makers released a note saying that they did not want to compromise on the quality of the film. With the technical crew recreating the 80s and 90s Mumbai with extensive sets, the dubbing quality is also being ensured. "We want to make it sound and feel as authentically native as possible in every language," the statement read. The team is also planning for a pan-Indian release which makes them require more time.

Lucky Baskhar is directed by filmmaker Venky Atluri who previously made Vaathi/Sir starring actor Dhanush. The project is bankrolled by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, under the banners Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Studios. While the project is mounted by a Telugu production, Lucky Baskhar will have a multi-lingual release in languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.

Expected to be a period thriller, Dulquer will be playing the role of a banker, who gets a mysterious way to become rich. Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi and P. Sai Kumar are part of the cast.
