Kunchacko Boban's film Officer on Duty has made a significant impact with its compelling storyline and outstanding performances. As the film, directed by Jithu Ashraf, continues to receive enthusiastic feedback from audiences in Kerala, there is a rising interest in dubbed versions from other regions. Recent media reports indicate that the Telugu and Tamil-dubbed editions of Officer on Duty are scheduled for release in March. Additionally, another Malayalam film, Unni Mukundan’s Marco, was recently dubbed and released in these two languages.

Officer on Duty poised for Tamil and Telugu release  

The increasing acclaim for Officer on Duty has prompted requests for its release in Tamil and Telugu. E4 Entertainment has reportedly acquired the dubbing rights for this Malayalam police drama. The dubbed versions of Officer on Duty are expected to debut in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu-speaking states in March 2025.

Marco dubbed in Tamil and Telugu too

The Officer on Duty film traces the journey of Marco, which received dubbing in Tamil and Telugu following its success as a violent action film that captivated audiences in Kerala and sparked extensive discussions. The dubbed adaptations of Marco also resonated with viewers in other regions, contributing to the Unni Mukundan-led film's achievement of surpassing the Rs 100-crore milestone.

It is yet to be determined whether Officer on Duty will achieve success in the states of Tamil Nadu and Telugu.

Officer on Duty cast and plot

Officer on Duty features a cast led by Kunchacko Boban, alongside Priyamani, Jagadish, Vishak Nair, Ramzan Muhammed, and Meenakshi Anoop. Kunchacko Boban portrays the role of police officer Harishankar, who has recently faced a demotion to circle inspector.

The gripping narrative centers on the officer as he investigates a case involving counterfeit gold chains. Priyamani takes on the role of the officer's spouse, while Jagadish plays the character of Chandrababu, a KSRTC bus conductor. Directed by debutant Jithu Ashraf and penned by Shahi Kabir, the film has received favorable reviews. Released in theaters on February 20, 2025, Officer on Duty is anticipated to make its OTT debut on Netflix. Although an official streaming date has not yet been confirmed, it is expected that the film will be available for viewing in March 2025.
