Nunakuzhi, the much-awaited upcoming Malayalam film marks the first onscreen collaboration of director Jeethu Joseph, and actor-filmmaker Basil Joseph. The shooting of the movie, which is touted to be a comedy thriller, was wrapped up a few days back. Grace Antony, the Kumbalangi Nights fame actress is set to play the female lead in the film. The makers finally released the long-awaited Nunakuzhi first look poster today. The poster was unveiled by superstar Mohanlal, on his official Instagram handle.

The Malayalam superstar took to his official Instagram handle and released the Nunakuzhi first look poster today. The promising first look features lead pair Basil Joseph and Grace Antony, who are seen sitting in the backseat of a police vehicle. The lead actors are seen flaunting worried yet comical expressions on their faces, hinting that something very exciting is in store for the audience. Interestingly, Nunakuzhi comes with the tagline ‘Liars Day Out’ which hints that the movie might be centered on the web of lies created by the protagonists played by Basil and Grace, that get them into deep trouble.

During one of his media interactions, director Jeethu Joseph revealed that Nunakuzhi is a dark comedy film. The hitmaker also confirmed that the Basil Joseph starrer would be a standout film in his filmography, as he is trying hands on a new genre. So, it is safe to assume that the filmmaker is bidding goodbye to his signature crime thriller genre, for the highly anticipated film. “First look! Here’s a glimpse into our movie Nunakuzhi! Get ready for an unforgettable journey!” wrote Jeethu, who dropped the first look poster on his official social media handles.


Nunakuzhi is penned by KR Krishnakumar, who has earlier teamed up with Jeethu Joseph for 12th Man and Kooman. The movie stars Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Baiju Santhosh, and others in the supporting roles. Jay Unnithan and Vishnu Shyam compose the music. Satheesh Kurup is the director of photography. Vinayak VS handles the editing. The Jeethu Joseph project is produced by Yoodle Films and Bedtime Stories.
