The popular actor-director made his directorial debut with the film, which marked the acting debut of the Premam star, and a bunch of new talents. For the uninitiated, the popular actor entered the film industry playing the role of Prakashan, a short-tempered yet good-hearted man in Malarvadi Arts Club. Nivin Pauly emerged as the instant favourite of the audience after the film released, and soon established himself as a bankable lead actor in Malayalam film industry. The actor, who recalled his journey in film as his debut film completed 14th year of its release, penned a heartfelt note on social media, and shared a poster of the film.

Rest of the Malarvadi Arts Club team members, including Aju Varghese and others, thanked Vineeth and celebrated 14 years of their debut film, by sharing throwback location stills on their social media handles.

The musical comedy film directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan revolves around five friends named Prakashan, Kuttu, Purushu, Praveen, and Santhosh, and their beloved hangout place, Malarvadi Arts Club. Nivin Pauly appeared as Prakashan in the film, while Aju Varghese, Bhagath Manuel, Harikrishnan, and Geevarghese Eappen played Kuttu, Purushu, Praveen, and Santhosh. Nedumudi Venu, Sreenivasan, Suraj Venajramoodu, Salim Kumar, Janardhanan, Lishoy, Malavika Wales, Sreeram Ramachandran, and others played supporting roles in the film.
