Nithya Menen, whose recent film Kadhalikka Neramillai, is currently running in cinemas, will be reuniting with Dhanush for the upcoming film Idly Kadai after Thiruchitrambalam. The film will mark their second collaboration.

While Dhanush and Nithya Menen won the hearts of many as Thiru and Shobana in Thiruchitrambalam, the Kadhalikka Neramillai actor said that neither of them are artists who take the pressure of expectations set on them and that Idly Kadai will be very different.

In a recent interview conducted during the promotional activities for Kadhalikka Neramillai, Nithya Menen was inquired about her collaboration with Dhanush once more following the success of Thiruchitrambalam, and whether this has resulted in heightened pressure for both of them.

We are fortunate to not belong to the category of actors and filmmakers who feel compelled to uphold a certain image or endure the pressure of elevating their work. Consequently, this project has developed naturally. The narrative will be distinctly different and will not resemble the works of Shobana and Thiru. I believe audiences will find these characters even more appealing. The film is characterized by its emotional depth and heartfelt storytelling, stated Nithya Menen.

Idly Kadai is scheduled for release in theatres on April 10, 2025. The cast includes Rajkiran, Arun Vijay, and Samuthirakani, among others, and the film is directed by Dhanush.

Actors Nithya Menen and Dhanush featured prominently in the 2022 film Thiruchitrambalam, which was directed by Mithran Jawahar. Dhanush took on the leading role, supported by a talented ensemble cast that included Raashii Khanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prakash Raj, and Bharathi Raja, among others.

The film is accessible for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. The narrative centres on Thiru, a young man facing unemployment, who harbours resentment towards his father while living with his grandfather. As he encounters difficulties in his romantic pursuits, he finds solace in the companionship of his best friend, Shobana.
