It has been a considerable amount of time since we last witnessed Nithiin achieve a substantial hit at the box office. Consequently, he placed all his expectations on his upcoming film, Robinhood, which was helmed by Venky Kudumula. The action comedy was under production for more than two years and had already faced two delays. Ultimately, the film premiered on March 28, 2025, in a significant manner, alongside Mad Square, a comedic adventure featuring RRR star Jr NTR's brother-in-law, Narne Nithin. While Mad 2 struck gold at the box office, Robinhood performed poorly and flopped significantly.

Well, we at OTTplay have already disclosed that Zee5 has acquired the digital rights to the movie for an impressive sum and will begin streaming the film on May 10, 2025. The unique aspect is that Robinhood will also have its television debut on that very day.

Now, let us examine how much Robinhood earned in its theatrical run prior to its OTT release. According to trade reports, Robinhood has grossed merely Rs 13 crore, while the film's budget stands at an astounding Rs 70 crore. A significant portion of the budget was dedicated to the stars, who were paid quite handsomely. Australian cricketer David Warner made a cameo appearance as well, and he charged a staggering Rs 3 crore for his participation.

Venky Kudumula's most recent project was Bheeshma with Nithiin, which achieved great success at the box office. Sreeleela, known for her roles in Skanda and Pelli SandaD, played the female lead in this movie, which featured music by GV Prakash.
