Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has emerged as one of the most successful films in Telugu cinema, grossing over Rs 300 crore at the box office. It has been reported that Zee5 has acquired the digital rights to the film for an impressive Rs 30 crore. Initially scheduled for an OTT release on February 14, 2025, the filmmakers decided to prioritize a television premiere before making it available on digital platforms.

Regarding the OTT release date, it was previously indicated that the digital launch would occur two weeks following the television premiere. Recent updates confirm that Sankranthiki Vasthunnam will debut on Zee TV on March 1, 2025, with the OTT premiere coinciding on the same date. This marks a notable trend in the industry, as the film is the first in Telugu cinema to adopt simultaneous releases on both television and digital platforms. Produced by Dil Raju with a budget of Rs 54 crore, the film has achieved a net collection exceeding Rs 170 crore, resulting in a profit margin of over 200%. Following significant losses from his previous project, Game Changer, Dil Raju has successfully recouped much of those losses through the triumph of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.

Anil Ravipudi directed the film, ensuring that the narrative was both captivating and suitable for family audiences. This approach has attracted a substantial viewership, and it will be intriguing to observe the number of views Sankranthiki Vasthunnam receives on Zee5.

Additionally, there are reports that Dil Raju is considering a Hindi remake of the film, with Akshay Kumar being approached for the lead role.
