The ongoing second season of the anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has propelled the series to surpass Jujutsu Kaisen on Crunchyroll, establishing it as one of the top three rated anime in the platform's extensive library. This remarkable achievement comes just a year after its launch in 2024.

With nearly 500,000 ratings, this dynamic series, which is based on Chugong’s web novel and manhwa and produced by A-1 Pictures, has joined the ranks of esteemed anime franchises such as One Piece and Demon Slayer on Crunchyroll. These two series currently hold the first and second positions on the most-rated anime chart.

By displacing Jujutsu Kaisen from the top three rankings, Solo Leveling has garnered 495,800 ratings on Crunchyroll, according to the official streaming platform at the time of this writing. In contrast, the highly regarded supernatural anime, based on Gege Akutami’s narrative, has seen a decline in its ratings, currently standing at 490,200, as fans await the premiere of its third season following the conclusion of its second season from July to December 2023.

Top 3 rated anime on Crunchyroll: One Piece, Demon Slayer, Solo Leveling

The top three rated anime on Crunchyroll are as follows: One Piece, Demon Slayer, and Solo Leveling. Leading the list, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece boasts an impressive 582,600 ratings, a figure that Solo Leveling is rapidly approaching. Meanwhile, Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba holds the second position with 574,800 ratings. In its pursuit of the top spot, Solo Leveling must surpass Demon Slayer to challenge One Piece for the leading position.

Big hopes pinned on Jujutsu Kaisen's Culling Game arc

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are optimistic that the upcoming Season 3, featuring the Culling Game arc, will enable the dark fantasy series to reclaim its position among the top three anime. However, it is noteworthy that Solo Leveling has achieved remarkable success in a relatively brief period, despite the fact that its competitors, such as One Piece, have been around for much longer, with its debut dating back to 1999.

Demon Slayer began its anime journey in 2019 and has since produced four seasons and several films. In contrast, Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in late 2021 and has released two seasons along with a prologue film.

Solo Leveling expected to surpass Demon Slayer soon

While Akutami’s series enjoys considerable popularity, fans of Solo Leveling remain confident in their show's potential for continued success. The second season of this Crunchyroll exclusive is currently halfway through its run. Additionally, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, a compilation film that connects the first and second seasons, is set for a theatrical release in late 2024.

Unfortunately for fans, this film is not available on Crunchyroll; however, the two seasons chronicling Sung Jinwoo’s journey as a necromancer can be streamed on the platform.

On its record-setting trajectory, Solo Leveling's latest episode, Season 2 Episode 6, titled “Don't Look Down on My Guys,” has surpassed various media content. With an impressive IMDb rating of 9.8, last week's episode has become the highest-rated media piece of 2025 thus far.
