Arun Varma's latest directorial project, Baby Girl, was recently announced. However, the Malayalam film has garnered attention following reports that its lead actor, Kunchacko Boban, may withdraw from the project due to scheduling issues, with Nivin Pauly being considered as his replacement. Filming for Baby Girl, directed by Arun Varma and written by Bobby-Sanjay, commenced last week in Thiruvananthapuram. Although the cast and crew were present at the official launch event, Kunchacko Boban was notably absent, fueling rumors that he might be replaced by Nivin Pauly. 

Recent reports indicate that the actor known for his role in Malayalee From India is anticipated to start filming for Baby Girl on April 12 (Saturday). Nevertheless, the production team has yet to provide any official confirmation regarding this development.

The forthcoming movie, expected to be a thriller, stars Lijomol Jose, Sangeeth Prathap, known for his role in Premalu, along with the antagonist Abhimanyu Thilakan and Aziz Nedumangad, among others.

Baby Girl is produced by Listin Stephen under his production company, Magic Frames. It is worth mentioning that Listin also produced the 2011 film Traffic, which was written by the duo Bobby-Sanjay and featured Kunchacko Boban in a significant role. When Baby Girl was initially announced earlier this year, it was celebrated by online users as the reunion of the Traffic team.

Baby Girl is described as a thriller taking place in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, and revolves around events that transpire within a single day. Anticipation for Baby Girl is high, thanks to the talented duo of Bobby and Sanjay, known for their work on acclaimed films like How Old Are You and Mumbai Police. This film represents Arun Varma's second directorial effort following Garudan, which was also produced by Listin Stephen. The 2023 release starred Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon in leading roles.
