Netflix's Daaku Maharaaj Poster Sparks Controversy: Urvashi Rautela Snubbed
2 months ago | 5 Views
Since early 2025, Urvashi Rautela's promotion of the film Daaku Maharaaj has become a hot topic among internet users, even if they didn't ask for it. Now, a month after the movie hit theaters, Netflix has announced that it will premiere the Nandamuri Balakrishna film on February 21, 2025. However, when they shared the news on their social media, they "conveniently" left Rautela out of the film's poster, which has sent netizens into a frenzy.
People online are buzzing about Urvashi Rautela not being around
Before anyone even had a chance to react to the film's OTT release, Instagram was buzzing with comments about the actor being left out of the poster, even though she had been the most vocal promoter of the film. One user pointed out, "India’s first woman to be taken off the poster of a 105+ CR film..."
Someone chimed in, "Lmao, the movie's top promoter isn't even on the poster!" Another comment said, "Is that the same Daaku Maharaj linked to that diamond-studded Rolex?" which was a nod to Rautela's remark about her parents gifting her the pricey watch after the film's success. But her response was actually about Saif Ali Khan's stabbing incident.
Another user pointed out, "First Indian lead actress to be missing from her own film poster," while someone else joked, "I can see Urvashi peeking out from behind those rocks."
Take a look at some of the reactions below:

Rautela gained a lot of attention for her role in the song Dabidi Dibidi from the movie, along with the interviews she did afterward.
A lineup of famous actors and a hit at the box office
Bobby Kolli's Daaku Maharaaj, besides featuring NBK and Rautela, also stars Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Rishi, Chandini Chowdary, Pradeep Rawat, Sachin Khedekar, Shine Tom Chacko, Viswant Duddumpudi, Aadukalam Naren, and Ravi Kishan in key roles.
The film premiered worldwide on January 12, 2025, coinciding with Sankranti. It received mostly positive feedback from both critics and audiences. With a worldwide box office collection nearing ₹115 crore, it stands as the third highest-grossing Telugu film of 2025 and the fourth for Indian films this year.
