Director Jiaozi's animated film Ne Zha 2 is set to hit theaters in India this summer. This groundbreaking Mandarin animation was produced with an $80 million budget and has since grossed over $2 billion globally, making it the top-grossing animated film, surpassing Inside Out 2.

Co-Distributors Encore Films and Warner Bros. Discovery, India shared on Thursday that Ne Zha 2 is set to hit theaters on April 25. The film will be shown in Mandarin with English subtitles.

Joyce Lee, the Managing Director of Encore Films, expressed her excitement, stating, “Ne Zha 2 has seen incredible success in Southeast Asia, smashing all box office records. We’re excited to bring this amazing blockbuster to Indian audiences in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery. The official synopsis of the film states, “Following the divine lightning, Ne Zha and Ao Bing managed to survive as Spirits, but they are on the verge of completely fading away. Taiyi intends to restore their human forms using the Seven-colored Precious Lotus. However, the reconstruction process is fraught with challenges. What will happen to Ne Zha and Ao Bing’s destiny?”

Since its release on January 29 this year, Ne Zha 2 has received rave reviews and achieved impressive box office numbers. It has made history as the first animated film to surpass the $2 billion milestone and ranks as the fifth highest-grossing film ever.
