Nayanthara as Kumudha in Test
The teaser opens with Nayanthara expressing a heartfelt prayer to God, revealing her singular aspiration: to have a modest home, a loving husband to embrace, and a child to whom she can be a mother. She conveys the significance of this dream to Madhavan’s character.
In her role as a teacher, Kumudha faces criticism at her school, being reminded that she is not a mother to her students. She wistfully touches the baby bump of a pregnant woman, only to be informed that her previous miscarriage has complicated her ability to conceive. Nevertheless, Nayanthara remains resolute in her pursuit of her dreams, undeterred by the challenges she faces.
This comes a day after Siddharth was introduced as a cricketer called Arjun, with R Ashwin praising the actor for his portrayal. Madhavan and Meera Jasmine’s characters are yet to be introduced.

Regarding her role, Nayanthara remarked, “Kumudha's strength lies in the simplicity of her aspirations—a home, a family, and enduring love. However, life challenges her in unforeseen ways, compelling her to fight for what is truly significant. Portraying her journey was profoundly impactful, and I hope the audience connects with the emotions she experiences. Test is a tale of love, resilience, and unyielding hope. I eagerly anticipate everyone experiencing it on Netflix.”
The film Test is both written and directed by Sashikanth, who also co-produces alongside Chakravarthy Ramachandra. It is set to premiere on Netflix on April 4.
