Yash's announcement of his upcoming Kannada film, Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has definitely sparked some buzz. But the team has been pretty tight-lipped about the details, only dropping a few hints that it might be a retro gangster flick. In a recent chat with Digital Commentary, Akshay Oberoi accidentally revealed that Nayanthara is officially on board for the movie.

Akshay recently dropped a hint about the film, confirming that Nayanthara is indeed part of the project, putting an end to months of rumors. He mentioned, “Right now, I’m working on Toxic with Yash… you know, Megastar Yash, or Rocking Star Yash, as he’s really called. And Nayanthara is in it. Honestly, I’m not sure if I should be talking about the cast; they might not be too happy about it.”

Although he kept some details under wraps, Akshay shared that Geetu cast him after seeing his performance in Fighter. “Geetu Mohandas is the director, and I’m a big fan of her work. I really enjoyed Liar’s Dice. I remember thinking how talented she is. I also loved Moothon. After she watched Fighter, she decided to cast me for Toxic; I was so eager to meet her. This is my first film in the South, and the scale of it is just incredible,” he said.

About Toxic

Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria are rumored to be involved in the project, but Geetu and the producers, Venkat K Narayana and Yash from KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, haven't revealed the full cast yet. Kareena Kapoor was initially linked to the film, but it seems that didn't pan out. There's talk that Nayanthara might play Yash's sister, but we’re still waiting for official confirmation.

This is Yash's next venture after KGF, so there's a lot of excitement surrounding it. Earlier this month, a birthday teaser dropped, showing him having a blast at a nightclub. He’s also co-producing and starring in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
