In just a few hours, the team behind Daali Dhananjaya’s production, Vidyapati, will face a crucial moment. This film is one of three Kannada releases hitting theaters during the Vishu/Baisakhi season, alongside titles like Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly, Mammootty’s Bazooka, Basil Joseph’s Maranamass, and Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana, among others. While the box office is buzzing with activity, there's a concerning trend: audiences seem less inclined to flock to smaller films, particularly in the Kannada language.

Nagabhushana is feeling anxious, and here's the reason why...

After watching the film, a comedy-drama from the Ikkat team, Esham and Haseen, Nagabhushana feels confident that it will resonate with family audiences, particularly those seeking engaging entertainment for their kids during the summer break. While the current state of the industry has him a bit anxious, he remains hopeful, recalling the positive vibes he got after seeing Badava Rascal and Tagaru Palya, both of which were well-received.

This film marks the latest project from Daali Dhananjaya, known for Tagaru, and this time he’s taking on a significant role himself. He’ll portray a martial arts fighter named Anaconda, who plays a key part in helping Nagabhushana’s character deal with his issues involving Jaggu (Garuda Ram). The last time Dhananjaya starred in a home production was in Head Bush, where he took on the role of gangster MP Jayaraj.

Nagabhushana is teamed up with Malaika Vasupal, known for her role in Hitler Kalyana, who made her film debut in last year's Upadhyaksha. While promoting Vidyapati, the actress opened up about the online trolling she faced for her debut alongside Chikkanna, which initially took a toll on her. However, she ultimately chose to stand by her decision to take on the role because she was drawn to the story. The film ended up being a hit at the box office.
