Nadikar, the highly anticipated film that stars Tovino Thomas in the lead role, is gearing up for a May 2024 release. The movie, which is helmed by actor-filmmaker Lal Jr, also stars Soubin Shahir in a pivotal role. As reported earlier, the project was originally titled Nadikar Thilakam. However, the makers later dropped the second word from the title due to undisclosed reasons. Meanwhile, leading man Tovino and his team finally dropped the much-awaited Nadikar teaser on social media today.

Nadikar teaser: Tovino is set to win hearts as a ‘delusional’ superstar

From the highly promising Nadikar teaser that is now winning the internet, it is safe to assume that director Lal Jr is back with yet another tale of a superstar after the highly successful Driving License. The biggest highlight of the teaser is the performance of leading man Tovino Thomas, who plays the role of David Padikkal, a young superstar of Malayalam cinema. The teaser, which has a duration of 1.26 minutes, begins on a serious note with the mention of an injustice faced by the protagonist’s family and an inevitable revolt.

However, the Nadikar teaser later shifts gear and then enters young superstar David Padikkal, who leads a flamboyant lifestyle. He is a delusional superstar who still believes he is the biggest name in the film industry. David refuses to collaborate with ‘old-school’ filmmakers and strongly believes that he is still a big name, even after giving flops after flops. Meanwhile, the media is seen describing him as an "undeserving, clueless fool who thinks he is some sort of superhero". Then enters Soubin Shahir’s character, who asks him who ‘Padikkal’ is.

Popular actress Bhavana has a blink-and-miss appearance in the initial parts of the Nadikar teaser, hinting that she is indeed a part of the project. The final scene of the teaser showcases a hilarious scene featuring Tovino's character, David Padikkal, and his die-hard fan, played by Chandu Salimkumar. The highly effective moments of humour, occasional serious moments, and the powerful appearances of Tovino, Bhavana, Soubin, Chanthu, and others ensure that Nadikar is going to be an fun ride for Malayalam audiences.

As reported earlier, Nadikar is slated to hit the big screens on May 3, 2024, as Tovino's second theatrical release of the year. The Lal Jr directorial is set to have a pan-Indian release in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. An official announcement on the same is expected to be out very soon.
