Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, the 2015-released Vignesh Shivan directorial, has been considered one of the finest Tamil action-comedy films of the last decade. Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara played the lead roles in the film, which was a major critical and commercial success. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan has been making headlines lately after Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan lashed out at producer Dhanush with an open letter. For the uninitiated, the Dhanush slammed the couple with a legal notice, for using a Naanum Rowdy Dhaan BTS clip for their upcoming Netflix documentary.

The ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged copyright infringement and Dhanush’s legal notice to Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan, has put Naanum Rowdy Dhaan back in the limelight. If you wish to revisit the blockbuster action-comedy film, the Vijay Sethupathi starrer is currently available for streaming in its original Tamil version on Sun NXT. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan: Plot, cast, and crew

The Vignesh Shivan directorial revolves around the life of Pondy Pandi aka V Pandiyan, the only son of Inspector Meena Kumari, a police officer. While his mother is determined to make him an efficient police officer, Pandi grows up with thugs and dreams of becoming the biggest gangster in his area, despite his incompetence. He finally finds a much-needed inspiration in life when he comes across Kadambari aka Kadu, a hearing-impaired young woman searching for her missing father.

Vijay Sethupathi played the role of Pandi in the film, which features Nayanthara as Kadambari. Radhika Sarathkumar played the role of Pandy mother Meena Kumari in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which features R Parthiban, RJ Balaji, Anand Raj, Mansoor Ali Khan, Rajendran, Azhagam Perumal, Meenakshi, and others in supporting roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and original score for the film. A Sreekar Prasad handled the editing. George C Williams is the director of photography. Dhanush produced the film, under his home banner Wunderbar Films.
