It was last year when we reported that actor Jr NTR of RRR fame, will be teaming up with director Prashanth Neel for a film who has delivered films like KGF and Salaar. Now, on Wednesday, the makers, have announced that the much-anticipated film, tentatively titled NTRNeel, will kickstart its shooting with the actor who will join the sets from April 22.

NTRNeel update: Jr NTR to begin shooting soon

After a period of quiet regarding the film featuring Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel, the production company Mythri Movie Makers, which is supporting the project, has provided a significant update. The actor is scheduled to commence filming on April 22.

Jr NTR is a well-established figure in Telugu cinema. The actor gained recognition through his early hits such as Baadshah and Ashok, and he was most recently featured in Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva. Although this film did not perform as expected, anticipation for his upcoming project has surged. The actor, known for his role in RRR, is set to team up with director Prashanth Neel.

Tentatively titled NTRNeel, this film marks the inaugural collaboration between the actor and the director. Mythri Movie Makers is producing the film with a substantial budget. It is anticipated to be a period piece set in the regions of China, Bhutan, and West Bengal in 1969. Initially, the filmmakers announced a release date of January 9, 2026, but recent reports indicate that the project may be postponed until April.

Prashanth Neel rose to prominence through the KGF film series, but he initially made his mark with the Kannada film Ugramm, which can be streamed on OTTplay Premium. The KGF installments, featuring Yash, are available for viewing on Prime Video, while his most recent directorial work, Salaar, is accessible on Netflix.
