Kay Kay Menon on Shekhar Home's comparisons with Sherlock Holmes

In a recent interview with DNA, when Kay Kay Menon was asked about his show Shekhar Homes and how he manages to keep it original and not look inspired, the actor said that the inspirations are there but everything they made is nothing but original.

He said, “There is nothing in this world that hasn’t been done before. Arthur Conan Doyle created a world for that time. Taking inspiration from that, we have created a new world, new town and telling the story there. The inspiration is, of course, there but things are very rooted and everything is very Indian.”

Further talking about the show and his character’s comparisons with Sherlock Homes, the actor said that his character Shekhar has never been played before. “They have played Sherlock but neither Jeremy Brett nor Benedict Cumberbatch has played Shekhar,” he said.
