Director Shravan Tiwari's upcoming web series Murshid is a gangster drama, which is set in Mumbai. To be premiered on ZEE5, the series stars Kay Kay Menon, Tanuj Virwani, and Zakir Hussain in lead roles. Before the show's release, the makers created hype by sharing new character promos and posters. The latest Murshid poster features Tanuj Virwani as Inspector Kumar Pratap Rana. It highlights the challenges Rana faces in his personal and professional life.
Tanuj Virwani's new Murshid poster
ZEE5 shared a new poster of Murshid featuring Tanuj. For starters, his character Kumar Pratap Rana is the adopted son of the mafia don Murshid Pathan (Kay Kay Menon). The poster sheds light on a tough decision that Tanuj aka Kumar Pratap will have to make. The question is: 'Will he go against his father for the sake of his profession?'
While sharing the poster on Instagram, the streaming platform captioned it, "Kya apni Vardi ke liye, ho jayega Kumar apne hi baap ke khilaaf? Murshid premieres 30th August, only on ZEE5 (sic)." The text on Tanuj's poster reads, "Baap ka karz ya wardi ka farz?"
A while ago, a character promo of Kumar Pratap Rana was shared online. In the promo, Tanuj's character makes it clear that Murshid Pathan is not his 'biological father'. Having said that, he is further informed about Murshid's encounter which is to be happened. However, Kumar Pratap says he can't see his father dying in front of him.
Why did Tanuj Virwani agree to do Murshid?
In an interview with Mid-Day, Tanuj Virwani revealed his co-star Kay Kay Menon was one of the major reasons he agreed to do Murshid. The actor said, "There are some actors who you really want to share screen space with, and Kay Kay sir was at the top of my list. My number one reason for saying yes to the project was the fact that Kay Kay Menon was front and centre."
Meanwhile, Murshid will premiere on ZEE5 on August 30, 2024.
