Last month, Varma and Prabhu revealed that Murphy scored a digital streaming deal and would be available on Amazon Prime Video soon. According to a source, Murphy has a pay-per-view arrangement with the platform, similar to many other Kannada films. Initially, it was thought the film would premiere on December 5, coinciding with Prabhu’s birthday, but the actor clarified that it will actually be available a day later, on December 6.

Murphy is keeping an eye on David (Prabhu), a college student living with his grandpa, Richard (Dattanna). David's father, Joseph (also Prabhu), died some time ago, and both he and Richard are still struggling with that loss. One day, Richard's beloved radio links David to a girl named Janani (Roshni), who surprisingly hails from a different era. As they chat, they discover there's a mysterious bond between them.
Filmed mostly in Goa, Murphy showcases the stunning charm of the rain-soaked coastal town, enhanced by its fantastic soundtrack, thanks to Arjun Janya and Sylvester Pradeep. For those who love sci-fi time travel flicks, especially Back to the Future, the film's plot might come off as a bit familiar.
Recently, Prabhu was spotted playing one of the villains in Maryade Prashne after Murphy, and he received a ton of praise for his performance. That movie is also expected to hit OTT platforms soon.
