L2 Empuraan's global box office earnings on day 12: Prithviraj Sukumaran's film featuring Mohanlal continues to set new records daily, although it hasn't surpassed the 2023 movie 2018 in one aspect. As reported by Sacnilk, the film has amassed ₹257 crore worldwide in just 12 days, marking the highest total for any Malayalam film to date.

L2 Empuraan raked in ₹99.90 crore net and ₹116.80 crore gross in India by its twelfth day, while also earning ₹140.20 crore internationally, bringing its total global earnings to ₹257 crore. The film achieved a 16.30% occupancy rate, even on a Monday during its second week. It hit the ₹100 crore mark just two days after its release.

While L2 Empuraan has shattered several records, making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the top-grossing Malayalam film ever, and the Malayalam film with the biggest opening, there’s still one record left to conquer. It has surpassed ₹80 crore in its home state of Kerala but hasn’t yet topped the ₹88.7 crore record set in 2018.

“Malayalam cinema has crossed the ₹250 crore milestone for the first time ever! The Emperor and his General are exploring uncharted territory!” the film’s producers celebrated, marking the ₹250 crore achievement. They added, “One of the select few to surpass ₹80 crore in Kerala. A new chapter in history begins.”

L2 Empuraan Overview

In L2 Empuraan, we find Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam (played by Mohanlal), stepping away from his fight against drug cartels to address a pressing matter back in Kerala. His brother, Jathin Ramdas (Tovino Thomas), who serves as the Chief Minister, has formed an alliance with an extremist named Baldev (Abhimanyu Singh), posing a threat to the state's secular values. Meanwhile, his loyal associate Zayed Masood (Prithviraj) has personal stakes in the situation, as does his sister Priyadarshini (Manju Warrier).
