Barroz is unarguably one of the most anticipated projects of Malayalam cinema. The 3D fantasy film marks the directorial debut of legendary superstar Mohanlal. The project, which is touted to be children's film, started rolling in 2021. But it was delayed initially due to the pandemic and multiple lockdowns. Even though Barroz was expected to hit the theatres in 2023, the movie was further delayed due to its massive post-production. Reportedly, Mohanlal’s film has now got a release date.

Mohanlal’s Barroz gets a release date?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Mohanlal and the team have finalised the release date of Barroz, after a very long wait. The recent updates suggest that the 3D fantasy film will be released on December 19, 2024, a week before the Christmas celebrations. In that case, the movie will hit the theatres on the same day that Drishyam, one of the biggest hits of Mohanlal’s career, released. The Jeethu Joseph directorial was originally released on December 19, 2013.

Even though the makers are yet to announce the Barroz release date officially, recent reports suggest that the theatre chains have already informed of the same. An official release date announcement, along with a new glimpse video of the Mohanlal directorial, is expected to be released in a couple of weeks. If things go as planned, Barroz will mark Mohanlal’s second theatrical release of 2024. More updates on the same are expected to be out soon.

All about Mohanlal’s Barroz

As reported earlier, Barroz is gearing up to have a pan-Indian release in all major Indian languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The movie, based on the popular novel of the same name, penned by Jijo Punnoose. TK Rajeev Kumar is the creative head of the project. Santosh Sivan ISC is the director of photography. Lydian Nadhaswaram composes the songs and original score for the 3D fantasy film. Barroz is produced by Antony Permbavoor, under the prestigious banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
