Barroz, the newly released Malayalam film that marks the directorial debut of actor Mohanlal, is now available for streaming on OTT platforms. Viewers can enjoy this fantasy adventure drama on Disney+ Hotstar immediately. The film is offered in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Barroz Now Streaming: Find Out Where to Watch

Mohanlal, the renowned Malayalam superstar, has taken on a new challenge with his latest project, Barroz, by stepping into the role of director for the first time. He also plays the lead character in this film, which has recently made its debut on streaming platforms. As of Wednesday, audiences can watch the film on Disney+ Hotstar, available in four languages: Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Barroz, presented in theatres as a 3D feature, is a fantasy drama aimed at children. The narrative centers on the main character, portrayed by Mohanlal, who is a ghost tasked with safeguarding the treasure of the Portuguese emperor Da Gama until it can be claimed by his legitimate heir. However, bound by a curse, the story takes a turn when a Portuguese teenager arrives in Goa with his father, intending to transform the palace into a casino.

Barroz becomes a box office bomb

Upon its release, Barroz did not generate a favorable response and received average reviews. Financially, the film struggled and was unable to recoup its production costs of Rs 100 crore.

Barroz is produced by Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas and features a cast that includes Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Nerea Camacho, and Tuhin Menon. The cinematography was handled by Santhosh Sivan, while B. Ajithkumar took care of the editing.

In the meantime, Mohanlal's upcoming project is Tharun Moorthy's Thudarum, a drama that also stars Shobana. Initially scheduled for release on January 30, the film has been postponed. Additionally, Mohanlal is involved in L2: Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, which is set to premiere in theatres on March 27.
