Mohanlal is reuniting with Mammootty after a gap of over 11 years, for the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan directorial. The untitled project started rolling in Columbo, Sri Lanka, last week. The team officially launched the film earlier this week, with a private pooja ceremony. The project also features Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban, along with the superstars, in pivotal roles. Reportedly, Mohanlal has already wrapped up his portions in the ongoing Sri Lanka schedule and resumed the filming of L2 Empuraan.

As you may know, the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan directorial features Mammootty in the lead role, while Mohanlal is expected to make an extended cameo appearance. The recent updates suggest that the Drishyam actor’s portions in the project will be filmed in less than 30 days. According to the latest updates, Mohanlal has already wrapped up his portions in the ongoing first schedule of the Mammootty starrer. The superstar completed his Sri Lanka portions, in just 6 days.

Mohanlal resumes L2 Empuraan shoot

Interestingly, Mohanlal is already back in Kerala, for the new schedule of the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial, L2 Empuraan. The filming of the highly anticipated Lucifer sequel has been progressing in the Malambuzha forest of Palakkad district, in Kerala. As reported earlier, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to wrap up the entire filming of the highly anticipated action thriller, by the first week of December 2024. More updates on the film are expected to be out very soon.

Mammootty, Mahesh Narayanan’s project: Here’s what we know

The upcoming Mammootty starrer, directed by Mahesh Narayanan is touted to be a political thriller. The untitled project will be filmed in multiple schedules, that are expected to be spanned over the next six months. Sri Lanka, London, Kerala, and New Delhi, are said to be the main locations of the film, which reportedly features popular actress Nayanthara as the female lead. The makers are yet to officially announce the star cast and technical crew of the film. However, recent updates suggest that Manush Nandan is the director of photography, of the film.
