Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar who is also a Lieutenant Colonel in Indian army, recent visited the areas of Wayanad district in Kerala, affected by the disastrous landslide. The veteran actor, who earlier donated Rs. 25 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, also announced relief programmed headed by his charitable trust Viswa Santhi Foundation, during his visit to the affected areas. Later, Mohanlal took to his official social media handles and posted a long, emotional note.

The legendary actor, who is evidently distressed after his visit to the landslide-affected areas in the Wayanad district of Kerala, penned a heartfelt note on social media. Mohanlal, who shared a couple of pictures from his visit on the post, also made an important pledge on behalf of his charitable organization, the Viswa Santhi Foundation. The Lieutenant Colonel also lauded the soldiers, especially the members of his Infantry Battalion, for their selfless efforts and resilience. 

“The devastation in Wayanad is a deep wound that will take time to heal. Every home lost and life disrupted is a personal tragedy,” wrote Mohanlal in his post. “@viswasanthifoundation is pledging Rs. 3 crore for immediate relief and rebuilding efforts with the support of Dorf-Ketal Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. One of our commitments is the reconstruction of the LP school at Mundakkai,” further added the superstar. “Witnessing the courageous efforts of the soldiers from my 122 Infantry Battalion, TA Madras, and the rescue teams was profoundly moving. Their selfless dedication and the resilience of the community inspire hope. Together, we will rebuild, heal, and emerge stronger,” concluded the actor.

Film industry extends support to Wayanad

Many popular members of the South Indian film industry, including veteran actors Mammootty and Kamal Haasan, Dulquer Salmaan, Suriya and Jyotika, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Rashmika Mandanna, and many others have extended support to the survivors of Wayanad landslides in the form of donations. Indrajith Sukumaran, Poornima Indrajith, Nikhila Vimal, and many other industry members are also involved in supporting the affected areas by sending food, medicines, clothes, and all necessary items.
