Mohanlal's fans were greeted with an unexpected revelation on Monday morning as the producers of Kannappa unveiled the first look poster featuring the esteemed actor. In this film, Mohanlal will portray the character of Kirata, supported by an impressive ensemble cast. Mukesh Kumar's Kannappa draws inspiration from the tale of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva.

In the poster, Mohanlal is depicted in a fierce tribal guise, adorned with black facial paint, a prominent beard, and flowing hair. He is attired as the mythological figure and wields a sword. Accompanying the image are descriptive lines about his character, stating: “Master of the Pashupatastra! The victor over the victorious. The legendary kirata of the forest.”

Vishnu Manchu shared the poster on X, expressing, “‘KIRATA’! The legend Sri. Mohanlal in #Kannappa. I had the honor of sharing the screen space with one of the greatest actors of our time. This entire sequence will be unforgettable.”

About Kannappa

Regarding Kannappa, the forthcoming film is rooted in a true narrative, chronicling the life of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Earlier this year, actors Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, and Prabhu Deva attended the Cannes Film Festival to present the teaser of this fantasy drama.

Produced by Mohan Babu, the film features a star-studded cast, including Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar. The screenplay for Kannappa has been crafted by Vishnu, with contributions from Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad for the story.

Kannappa is set to premiere in theaters on April 25, 2025.
