Prithviraj Sukumaran got everyone talking with his remarks about Khureshi Ab’raam earlier today while discussing his character Zayed Masood in the upcoming film Empuraan. Now, the moment we've all been waiting for is here: Mohanlal is set to reveal his role as Khureshi-Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally, in L2 Empuraan. He shared some insights about his character and what fans can look forward to as the much-anticipated Empuraan hits theaters on March 27, 2025. But that’s not all—Mohanlal also mentioned the third installment of Prithviraj Sukumaran's Lucifer series, hinting that Empuraan will wrap up with a sneak peek into what’s coming next. 

Mohanlal talks about Khureshi-Ab'raam in L2 Empuraan

In a recent character intro video posted by Prithviraj Sukumaran on social media, Mohanlal jumps right into his role as Khureshi Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally.

The Malayalam superstar revealed that the upcoming second part of the Lucifer franchise will explore more about Khureshi Ab'raam, focusing on how he navigates conflicts in his world and tackles the new challenges facing Kerala.

However, he cautions that to truly grasp the full story of Khureshi Ab'raam or Stephen, fans will need to wait for the third part, hinting that the second installment will set the stage for the grand finale of the Lucifer trilogy.

In the 1-minute-53-second clip, Mohanlal sports a white outfit, reminiscent of Stephen's look in the original Lucifer.

Interestingly, Mohanlal stated, "I see Empuraan as the biggest film of my career." This is a major statement from the Complete Actor of Malayalam cinema, who boasts a remarkable film history filled with award-winning and beloved films.

Mohanlal is all about the compliments for Prithviraj, saying that the Empuraan director has given every actor and location in the film the attention they deserve. He believes this will be one of Prithviraj's standout films as a director, according to the Lucifer star.

To build excitement for L2 Empuraan’s main character, Prithviraj recently posted a photo showcasing the eyes of The Complete Actor. He captioned it, “As you look into his eyes, you’ll see the fires burning in the depths of hell. Ab’Raam. Stephen. The Overlord.” It’s pretty cool that Prithviraj referred to himself as “The Overlord” alongside Ab’Raam and Stephen, his two characters.

Empuraan is set to drop on March 27, 2025

However, the president of the Film Chamber quickly shot down those claims, stating that theater owners are actually looking forward to the release of Empuraan on March 27, 2025.
