With Season 2 of the riveting psychological drama Mithya finally nearing its release, ZEE5 is ecstatic to be back after the smash hit first season. The producers promise more surprises, thrills, and drama this season. As per the latest reports, Naveen Kasturia joins the ensemble group and brings depth to the plot with his nuanced new role.
Naveen Kasturia joins the cast
Naveen expressed his excitement about being a part of Mithya Season 2, where he portrays an aspiring writer. The actor said that in many ways, the character's story mirrors his own. His initial assumption upon arriving in Bombay (Mumbai) was that writing would serve as his portal into the film industry. Reading and storytelling are two of his favourite things to do, and Naveen thinks they help him bring the character to life onscreen.
Applause Entertainment, in collaboration with Rose Audio Visual Production, produced the first season of Mithya, a six-part original series, under the direction of Rohan Sippy. Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani are the show's principal actors. Avantika makes her acting debut in the series, which also features Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajit Kapur, and Samir Soni.
Plot overview of Mithya Season 1
Mithya stars Huma as Juhi, a university Hindi literature professor, and Avantika as Rhea Rajguru, one of her students. A tragic chain reaction ensues from what starts as an issue of academic dishonesty and quickly escalates into a strained relationship between the two. As Rhea and Juhi go head-to-head in their psychological battle, neither one wanting to back down, Mithya suddenly turns evil, threatening to swallow them both and everyone else in their path.
Earlier, while talking about the series, Sippy had said in a statement that the events of Mithya take place in a university setting, where the pursuit of truth and knowledge is prevalent; nonetheless, the characters in the film fool not only one another but also the audience and, in the end, themselves. The continual surprises, turns, revelations, and repercussions in Mithya are what they are hoping will keep viewers glued to their seats.
Mithya will return on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium) for a second season shortly!
