Even before Mirzapur 3 was announced, there was a question on everybody’s mind, whether Divyenndu Sharma’s Munna Bhaiyya will be back. In an interview, the actor mentioned that he has not shot for the current season. However, reports claimed that he will be a part of the show in a different way. Now, with the recently released promo from the show, we feel that the makers have announced that he will be back in this season. Here’s why we think so…

The promo

In the promo, Prime Video has taken us back in time and reminded us of the deaths on the show which left us wounded. At the same time, it told us about what is expected to happen in the upcoming episode.

When stating, “Takleef unki nahi hoti jo chodh kar chale jaate hai,” we see the pictures of Vikrant Massey’s Bablu Bhaiyya, Shriya Pilgaonkar’s Sweety, Abhishek Banerjee’s Subodh, and Brahma Mishra’s Lalit. They are all confirmed dead in the series and almost never made a comeback after their demise on the show.

Just as, “Takleef unki nahi hoti hai jo reh jaate hai,” is seen on the screen, there’s a photo of Ali Fazal’s Guddu Bhaiyya, Shweta Tripathi’s Golu, Divyendu Sharma’s Munna Bhaiyya, Rajesh Tailang’s Ramakant Pandit, Sheeba Chaddha’s Vasudha Pandit, Harshita Gaur’s Dimpy Pandit, and Shahnawaz Pradhan’s Superintendent of Police Parshuram Gupta. Out of them, Guddu and Golu are alive and out for revenge. Guddu’s family (the Pandits) are alive too, and so is his sister Dimpy. Guddu’s father (Gupta), while he is no more in real life (died of heart attack on February 17, 2023), he might have an appearance on the show. Thus, it looks like Munna Bhaiyya might also be a part of Mirzapur 3, even if briefly.

Is Munna Bhaiyya alive?

It definitely looks like Guddu got his revenge and killed Munna by the end of season 2. That sets the plot for season 3, where the ‘soya hua sher (injured lion)’ Akhanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiyya (Pankaj Tripathi) is back in action. It is now Guddu and Golu vs Kaleen Bhaiyya and his loyal followers (some from his family too).

Other actors on the show

Scheduled for July 5 release on Prime Video, Mirzapur 3 will also see Lilliput as Dadda Tyagi, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Isha Talwar’s Madhuri Yadav (Munna Bhaiyya’s wife), Vijay Varma as twins Bharat Tyagi and Shatrughan Tyagi, and Anjum Sharma’s Sharad Shukla. While Kulbhushan Kharbanda plays Bauji of the Tripathi house, he is in a serious condition and might not be alive in the upcoming season. Pankaj had hinted at that in a previous promo released by the makers.
