Mirchi Shiva's film, Suma, has been completed for some time but has not yet been released. However, an announcement was made on Friday indicating that the film is preparing for its debut. The producers have confirmed that the Tamil film Suma will be released in theaters on April 25.

Sumo release date out: Mirchi Shiva’s much-anticipated film to hit theatres soon

Sumo, a Tamil film that was announced a few years ago, features Mirchi Shiva and Priya Anand in the leading roles. The pair previously collaborated in the romantic comedy Vanakkam Chennai. The film is directed by SP Hosimin, known for his work on Bharath's February 14 and Aayiram Vilakku, which starred Shanthanu Bhagyaraj. Sumo is produced by Ishari K Ganesh's Vels Film International.

Although the film has faced several delays over the years, the producers have now confirmed a release date. Sumo is set to hit theaters on April 25.

In addition to Shiva and Priya Anand, who have appeared together in films such as Vanakkam Chennai and Kasethan Kadavulada, the cast also includes Yoshinori Tashiro, VTV Ganesh, Chetan, Besant Ravi, Srinath, Yogi Babu, and others.

The technical team of Sumo features music composed by Nivas K. Prasanna, with Rajiv Menon serving as the cinematographer. The editing has been managed by Praveen KL. Sumo is anticipated to be a comedic entertainment piece, centering on a sumo wrestler with a low IQ who finds himself stranded on a beach in Chennai.

Prior to the release of Sumo in theaters, viewers can enjoy Vanakkam Chennai. Directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, this film is currently available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium at promotional rates. Released in 2013, this romantic comedy tells the story of an NRI photographer who travels to India to enter a competition and meets a man who coincidentally rents the same house as her. The film received favorable reviews upon its release. Following this, Priya Anand and Shiva also featured in Kasethan Kadavuladha.
