It was previously reported that after a hiatus of 13 years, Selvaraghavan and GV Prakash are set to collaborate on a Tamil film. On Friday, the pair officially announced the project, which marks their third partnership following Aayirathil Oruvan and Mayakkam Enna. The film, titled Mental Manadhil, will feature GV Prakash in the lead role, in addition to his role as a producer.

Selvaraghavan has previously collaborated with composer GV Prakash on the films Mayakkam Enna and Aayirathil Oruvan. Now, the director-actor is preparing to work with him again, this time as an actor.

The film, titled Mental Manadhil, unveiled its first look poster on Friday. According to GV Prakash, Mental Manadhil is described as a "musical love journey."

The technical team is led by Arun Radhakrishnan, who operates the camera, while R. K. Vijaimurugan takes on the role of art director. Balaji is responsible for the editing process, and R.K. Vijay Murugan also contributes as the art director. Dinesh Guna holds the position of executive producer. The film features Madhuri Jain in the principal female role, complemented by a skilled supporting cast. G.V. Prakash Kumar will produce the film through Parallel Universe Production House and will also compose the musical score.

Selvaraghavan and GV Prakash have previously worked together on the films Mayakkam Enna and Aayirathil Oruvan, both of which can be accessed on the Aha Tamil, SunNXT, and OTTplay Premium platforms.

Mayakkam Enna is a psychological romantic drama that stars Dhanush, Richa Gangopadhyay, and others, while Aayirathil Oruvan is an adventure-action drama featuring Karthi, Reema Sen, and Andrea Jeremiah. The narrative of Mayakkam Enna revolves around a wildlife photographer who encounters a significant personal crisis, supported by his wife. In contrast, Aayirathil Oruvan follows a team of archaeologists on their quest to uncover the lost Chola dynasty. Although neither film achieved commercial success at the box office, their soundtracks received considerable acclaim.
