The series stars Choi Woo-shik and Park Bo-young, who will portray a romantic couple. The narrative revolves around ambitious young individuals who seek love while pursuing their dreams, inspiring one another and overcoming personal tragedies. Melo Movie centers on a film enthusiast and an aspiring director who reconnect following a mysterious event. The series delves into themes of romance, healing, and past traumas, emphasizing the couple's journey as they balance love, career aspirations, and personal challenges.
Regarding their roles, Ko Gyeom (Choi Woo-shik) is a film aficionado who becomes a film critic, driven by his passion for cinema and a desire to view every film ever created.
Conversely, Kim Mubee (Park Bo-young) is an aspiring director with a complex history. Her relationship with film is tinged with nostalgia, influenced by her father's intense devotion to the art form.

The one-minute and thirty-four-second trailer opens with Park Bo-young and Choi Woo-shik exchanging thoughts and discussing films. When Ko Gyeom inquires about the type of movie Kim Mubee wishes to create, she responds, “An awesome Melo movie (melodrama).”
The plot of Melo Movie follows Kim Mu-bee, an aspiring filmmaker, and Ko Gyeom, a part-time actor and film enthusiast, who first meet during their university years. Intrigued by Mubee's name, which resembles 'movie', Gyeom develops an interest in her and eventually falls in love. However, their relationship comes to an abrupt halt when Gyeom unexpectedly disappears from Mubee's life without any explanation. Years later, Mubee, now a struggling filmmaker, encounters Gyeom again during a project. The evolution of their love story remains to be seen, and viewers will have to wait for the series' release on February 14.

The series is helmed by Oh Choong-hwan, recognized for his successful works such as Hotel del Luna and Start-Up. He collaborated with Lee Na-eun, the writer of Our Beloved Summer, for the project titled Melo Movie.
In addition to Choi Woo-shik and Park Bo-young, the ensemble cast includes Lee Jun-young (Mask Girl, Badland Hunters) portraying Hong Si-jun, an aspiring musician and the best friend of Gyeom, as well as Jeon So-nee (Parasyte: The Grey, Our Blooming Youth) in the role of Son Ju-a, who is Si-jun’s former girlfriend.
