Meiyazhagan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Karthi and Arvind Swamy, is gearing up for release this week. Scheduled to hit theatres on September 27, the film has cleared the censor formalities and received a clean U certificate.

Karthi and Arvind Swamy will be soon seen sharing screen space in the upcoming Tamil film Meiyazhagan. All set to hit theatres on September 27, the emotional drama is helmed by Prem Kumar of 96 fame. The film recently cleared the censor formalities and received a U certificate, making it suitable for all age groups of the audience to watch. Meiyazhagan has a runtime of two hours and 57 minutes, making it a long film.

Meiyazhagan is a story that will take place in one night and the emotional exchange between two men. The film has music by Govind Vasantha and Mahendiran Jayaraju has cranked the camera. R Govindaraj is the editor of the film. The film was shot with the sync sound method. The film is produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the banner 2D Entertainment. Meiyzahagan marks Prem Kumar’s sophomore directorial and his first collaboration with Karthi and Arvind Swamy. All eyes are on the release of the film, which is touted to be an emotional drama.


Karthi’s comments on laddu triggers row

Recently, Karthi was in Hyderabad to promote the film in Telugu. At the event, for a particular question asked, the actor said that laddu is a controversial topic and that he will not comment on it now, on a jovial note. With the clip going viral, actor and politician Pawan Kalyan fired the actor, saying he cannot make such frivolous statements.

Karthi then took to social media and apologised for making the statements. “Dear Pawan Kalyan sir, with deep respects to you, I apologize for any unintended misunderstanding caused. As a humble devotee of Lord Venkateswara, I always hold our traditions dear. Best regards,” Karthi wrote on his X handle.
