Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep has been paying keen attention to all the discussions and speculations around his next, Max, especially as far as its release date goes. From an Independence Day outing to a festive release for Ganesha Chaturthi and more, there’s been a lot of talk about when the action thriller is expected, but there was never official confirmation from the team. That is finally happening on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, as revealed at the end of the first single a few days ago. There is confusion about that too, with netizens convinced that the announcement will be on September 6, although Ganesha habba is on the 7th.
Max's tentative release date according to Kiccha Sudeep
Currently, the dates being discussed for Max include a late September release along with Jr NTR’s Devara, as well as the mid-October to mid-November period, after Martin and Vettaiyan and before Bhairathi Ranagal. Sudeep, who wants the film in theatres soon enough, is bullish that the release date is not far off and in fact, does not rule out the possibility of a September 27 release after all. Speaking about the release date of Max, Sudeep added that it would not be right on his part to make an unplanned announcement and that the accepted decorum would be for the production house to do the needful. What he did say, though, was that the wait for the film will not be very long now.
Max is Sudeep’s 46th film as a leading man and the last that he has done as a solo project that he’s dedicated months to. Going forward, the Kannada superstar will emulate Shivarajkumar and work on multiple projects at a time, so that at least 1 or 2 of them hit theatres at regular intervals.
The film, directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeyaa, has been produced by Kalaippuli Thanu and has music by Ajaneesh Loknath. It sees Sudeep in cop mode yet again as Inspector Arjun Mahakshay, who is presented with a certain situation, when he reports back for duty after a brief suspension.
