Kannada actor Pruthvi Ambaar’s first time in the khaki avatar, Matsyagandha is OTT bound. OTTplay had earlier reported that the Devraj Poojary-directed thriller had finalized a streaming partner and will be headed to Cinebazzar OTT. We now have a streaming date as well; Matstyagandha will be available to rent on Cinebazzar OTT from September 20, at a ticket price of Rs 49 only.
All about Pruthvi Ambaar's Matsyagandha
Matsyagandha was one of two films featuring Pruthvi that was released in theatres on the same day. The actor played Param, the probationary station-in-charge at the Tonka police station. A sleepy town where the biggest excitement is Param’s occasional run-in with the fisherfolk, Tonka doesn’t offer him much to give his career a boost. Until he figures that there are people who are selling more than just fish right under his nose.
Param and his subordinate uncover a drug smuggling racket using export-ready fish and figure that this could be the big case they were looking for. But then, the ‘goods’ he seized go missing, and retrieving it becomes a question of maintaining the department’s pride and salvaging his career. Can Param really take on these big sharks?
Matsyagandha joins Cinebazzar’s growing library of films, which also includes Usire Usire, Dasappa, Aarata, Tagarupalya, Orchestra Mysuru! Chow Chow Bath, among others. A transactional video-on-demand platform, Cinebazzar is available to audiences across 177+ countries in the world.
Pruthvi, who was recently seen in a cameo in A Day in Dollarspete, has a film called Bhuvanam Gaganam lined up for release sometime in November. Pruthvi plays a character with learning disabilities in the film, which also stars Pramod in the lead. In fact, Pramod has been effusive in his praise of Pruthvi’s performance in the travel-based film.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Pruthvi had spoken at length about experimenting with different kinds of cinema, and the need to establish himself as a commercially viable actor. That is yet to click for Pruthvi.
