Varun Tej is struggling to score a hit and has pinned all his hopes on his new film Matka. The period drama is based on gambling and is being directed by Karun Kumar of Palasa fame. The film is done with its shoot and is busy with its post-production.

Matka teaser review

The makers have kick-started the promotions and released the teaser at a special event in Vijayawada. The first impression that we get after seeing the teaser is that Varun Tej is going to kill it with his crazy avatars in the film. Set in the time zone of 1950-1990, Matka is about the rise of a small-time gambler to the underworld kingpin in the bygone era.

Varun Tej is showcased in different avatars and his work on each of his characters is evident in Varun's different looks. But what catches your imagination is Varun Tej's middle-aged look. He means business and the dialogues he mouths are also clap-worthy.

The production design showcasing the various periods also looks solid. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays Varun Tej's wife in this film which also has Nora Fatehi in a key role. Naveen Chandra is showcased in a key role along with Ajay Ghosh.

GV Prakash has composed the music for the film and his score elevates the teaser of Matka to another level and gives a solid feel. Karuna Kumar is known to make solid dramas and Matka is his biggest film to date.

Matka release date details

He has gone through a lot while making this film and says that Varun Tej will be seen in a crazy mass avatar in this film. On the other hand, Varun openly agreed that he made some bad choices but would make a comeback with Matka.

Along with the teaser, the makers have also locked the release date as Matka will hit the screens on November 14, 2024. Matka needs to click at any cost as Varun's last three films ended as big flops. For now, the teaser looks quite interesting. Stay tuned for more updates.
