Directed by the critically acclaimed Nagraj Manjule, renowned for Sairat and Fandry, Matka King delves into the intriguing underground realm of Matka gambling—a numbers game that enthralled Mumbai from the 1960s through the 1990s. Set in the 1960s Bombay, the fictional series tracks the journey of an ambitious cotton trader who, in his quest for respect and authenticity, creates the gambling game ‘Matka. ’ What begins as a personal endeavor swiftly evolves into a societal sensation, shattering class divides and transforming the city’s power structure.

The Prime Video series features a captivating ensemble cast, including Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Gulshan Grover, and Siddharth Jadhav, with each portraying pivotal roles within the story’s dark, intricate universe.
