Renowned music composers Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendosa have announced via their social media platforms that they are poised to make their debut in Malayalam cinema with an upcoming project. Although the title of the film, along with its cast and crew details, has not been disclosed by the trio, several intriguing details have emerged that are likely to captivate the audience.

The film's producers previously released a poster indicating that Arjun Ashokan will take on the lead role, set against the backdrop of a wrestling ring reminiscent of WWE, complete with scattered chairs and a silhouette echoing the iconic pose of Macho Man Randy Savage. Shihan Shoukath is anticipated to make his debut as both a filmmaker and writer for this project.

Marco duo to join wrestling film set in Kochi

In addition, the film's action director will be Kalai Kingston, who recently received acclaim for his stunt choreography in Unni Mukundan’s Marco, which is scheduled to begin streaming on Sony LIV from February 14. Kalai has also collaborated with Arjun in previous works such as Thalavan, Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, and Bramayugam.

Moreover, Dubai-based actor Ishan Shoukath, who portrayed the visually-impaired stepbrother of Unni’s character in Marco, is also involved in this forthcoming film. 

‘Kochi’s soul and WWE wrestling madness’

In their social media announcement, the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio described the movie as embodying “Kochi’s soul, WWE wrestling madness, chenda beats, and a soundtrack that’s literally gonna pack a punch (sic).”

Meanwhile, Arjun is preparing for the release of his comedy film Bromance, which features Mathew Thomas, Mahima Nambiar, Sangeeth Prathap, and Shyam Mohan. He is also set to appear in the Tamil film Moonwalk, directed by debutant Manoj NS, which marks the reunion of Prabhudeva and AR Rahman after 25 years. The film's team, which includes Yogi Babu and Aju Varghese, has already completed its first shooting schedule.
