The Malayalam film Marco, known for being one of the most intense action flicks in India alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Lakshya’s Kill, is gearing up for its Telugu release soon.

The movie premiered in theaters on December 20 and has already raked in over Rs 35 crore globally within just four days, even with its A rating and graphic violence.

Marco Telugu version release date revealed

By the end of the weekend, Marco had already raked in over Rs 2.2 crore from places outside Kerala, just from the Malayalam and Hindi versions. The team is gearing up to boost these numbers with the Telugu version, which is set to premiere in theaters on January 1, 2025.

Unni is no stranger to the Telugu crowd, having appeared in blockbusters like Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie, Jr NTR’s Janatha Garage, Ravi Teja’s Khiladi, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Yashoda in 2022.

Given that the Telugu audience usually loves action flicks, it’ll be interesting to see how the film performs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as the new year kicks off. A plus for the Malayalam movie is that Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is wrapping up its run, and Ram Charan’s Game Changer won’t hit theaters until January 10. This gives Haneef Adeni’s film a solid chance to shine for at least a week in the Telugu states.

Marco's Telugu rights were sold for a record sum

Even though the dubbing and OTT rights for Marco weren't sold before its release, the film's success has allowed the creators to secure a solid deal for them. Sources from the film's team reveal that the Telugu rights for Marco were sold for Rs 3 crore, plus a cut of the box office earnings.

The story follows a fierce young man on a quest for revenge after his brother is killed by a faction of a gold syndicate, which his older brother is also involved with. The cast includes Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadeesh, Siddique, and Anson Paul.
