Despite the intense competition posed by Mohanlal’s Barroz on Christmas Day, the producers of the Unni Mukundan-starrer appeared to be optimistic, issuing a series of announcements throughout the day.

The initial announcement celebrated the emergence of “Superstar Unni Mukundan,” while the most recent update, which was anticipated, revealed that the Haneef Adeni-directed film had surpassed Rs 50 crore in global earnings within just over five days.s days.

Marco enters Rs 50 crore club with a worldwide gross

The action film, characterized by its intense violence, commenced its fifth day with worldwide earnings amounting to Rs 41 crore while recording its lowest domestic revenue of merely Rs 3.65 crore. Nevertheless, with Christmas Day recognized as a holiday, an increase in box office figures was anticipated. The producers have now officially announced that the film has achieved a total gross of Rs 50 crore to date.

Industry analysts have not yet disclosed the film's global earnings for Day 5, which is anticipated to be an additional Rs 1-2 Cr. The Middle East has emerged as Marco's largest market outside of Kerala, despite its release in select locations across Europe and Australia.

In India, Bengaluru and Chennai have been the primary markets for the film outside of Kerala, with Mumbai also contributing significantly to the revenue, particularly due to the release of its Hindi version. The Telugu version of the movie is scheduled to premiere in theatres on January 1, 2025, in the Telugu-speaking regions. The rights for the Telugu version were sold for Rs 3 Cr, which includes a share of the film's profits from its theatrical performance.

Marco and Barroz’s neck-to-neck race at the Kerala box office

On December 25, the film Barroz was released, and preliminary estimates indicate that both films are in close competition at the Kerala box office. According to industry analysts at Sacnilk, Marco has generated Rs 2.5 crore from domestic markets by its sixth day, while Barroz has reached Rs 2.6 crore. Final figures will be accessible only after the conclusion of Christmas Day.
