The crime thriller web series Manvat Murders starring Ashutosh Gowariker is releasing on OTT platform SonyLIV (OTTPlay Premium) on October 4. Ahead of the release, the series has been gaining a lot of attention as the plot is inspired by real events. It revolves around the brutal murders that shook Maharashtra in the 1970s. Today, on September 18, the streaming platform dropped another intriguing teaser to build up the anticipation.

A while ago, SonyLIV took to their Instagram handle and released a new teaser of Manvat Murders. It gave a detailed peek into the plot of the real events. The clip began with a little girl getting kidnapped and murdered. The voiceover in the video informs that four underage girls and three women had been brutally killed by a sharp stone.

Details about the Manvat Killings
Manvat Murders is based on real-life CID officer Ramakant S. Kulkarni’s autobiography titled Footprints on the Sand of Crime and the investigation done by then-on-duty officials.
According to several media sources and legal news websites, over 5 murders occurred in Maharashtra Manwath village between 1972 and 1974. The victims comprised both girls and women. The murders were done as part of a plot to locate a treasure trove.
The Marathi web show revolves around the officer who is trying his best to solve the case puzzle.
