Ashutosh Gowariker on playing IPS Officer Ramakant S. Kulkarni

During an early conversation with Mid Day, Ashutosh was asked how he felt about facing the camera for Manvat Murders. Gowariker shared that playing Kulkarni, who was famous for solving the Raman Raghav case, is the most fortunate thing that has happened to him.

If it weren't for Ramakant S. Kulkarni, a lot of cold cases would still be unresolved. He added that the book Footprints on the Sands of Crime gave them a glimpse of his methods, his subtlety and how he dealt with suspects and coerced confessions.

Preparation for the role of Ramakant Kulkarni

During his preparation in January of 2024, Gowariker met Kulkarni's family. He also met Anita Bhogle, Ramakant Kulkarni's daughter, and her husband Harsha Bhogle to fully grasp the character—his demeanor, actions, and convictions. Their advice was invaluable as he prepared for the part. Kulkarni has done an outstanding job investigating the murders.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Ashutosh Gowariker, Sai Tamhankar, Makarand Anaspure, Sonali Kulkarni, Kishor Kadam, and Mayur Khandge, among others. It is directed by Ashish Bende, and Girish Joshi has written the series. Saket Kanetkar composed the music, and Satyajeet Shobha Shriram did the cinematography.
