Manoj Bajpayee is back to shooting for The Family Man. He started the shoot of The Family Man 3 a few days back and the actor is enjoying it. In a recent interview, he analysed what going back on the sets of Raj and DK’s show, which streams on Amazon Prime Video, is like. Interestingly, the actor drew comparisons between his character and renown writer RK Laxman’s columns on the common man.

What the actor said

Comparing Srikanth to RK Laxman’s common man, Manoj told Puja Talwar, “I feel that people will relate with his problems. They will find themselves in this character, and I’m so happy to be proven right.”

Manoj felt Srikanth was like therapy for him. He spoke about working towards the creation of the character and while it did take a lot of hardwork, unlike other projects. He never felt the bruise, either mentally or physically. This is because Srikanth does not have a dark zone, at least so far. “I enjoy being Srikanth,” Manoj Bajpayee said.

Common Man inspired TMKOC

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which is among one of the longest-running shows on TV, took inspiration from RK Laxman’s Common Man. The show also talks about a common man’s day-to-day problems, but the common man there is Jethalal Gada, who has an electronics store. Meanwhile, Srikanth is someone who deals with the family while serving his country too.

Was Manoj Bajpayee sure about Srikanth?

The actor said, “There was a hunch that Srikanth would connect.” Manoj asked for two episodes update and on reading them, they met in a club and celebrated.

Manoj did not want to pick action, murder, war, s*x topics as his first film. He realized that it is a template on every platform and thus, it became something he did not want to do.

The actor further shared that he has completed 10 days of shoot for the third season. It took him four days to feel like Srikanth again. This is because they came back to the sets after three years. While everyone was struggling to get into the groove, it was just fun after the third day.
