Mammootty, who received a lot of acclaim for his role in the period folk horror film Bramayugam last year, is back in action mode with Bazooka, one of the most anticipated Malayalam films this Vishu season. Directed by Deeno Dennis, this film is being described as a thrilling game-changer and is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2025, alongside Naslen’s Alappuzha Gymkhana and Basil Joseph’s Maranamass. In an exciting development, the Bazooka team has announced that a pre-release teaser will be released on April 9, 2025.

Fans are super excited for the upcoming release of Bazooka, featuring Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon in the lead roles, set to hit theaters on Thursday. To build the hype, the creators will share a pre-release teaser at 10 AM on Wednesday, just a day before the film's debut. Along with this announcement, they also revealed a fresh poster of Mammootty, showcasing the Malayalam megastar deep in thought. 

The previously released posters and trailer showcased Mammootty in a more fashionable look. Many fans flooded the comments with fire emojis, showing their excitement to see the Turbo actor on the big screen.

On the flip side, some fans voiced their disappointment over the Bazooka team's lack of extensive promotional efforts. While a few cast members, like Sidharth Bharathan, participated in promotional interviews, it doesn't quite match the massive promotional push that Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran gave to Empuraan. The sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, L2 Empuraan hit theaters on March 27 and is still performing well at the box office.

Bazooka and other Vishu releases will face tough competition from Mohanlal’s Empuraan, which continues to thrive despite facing backlash from right-wing groups and various controversies.

Bazooka marks Mammootty's second theatrical release this year. Earlier, in January, his film Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, hit theaters but received mixed reviews.

In the previous year, Mammootty appeared in films like Bramayugam and Turbo, both of which can be streamed on SonyLiv.
