Mammootty talks about Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha
Mammootty took on the role of Chandu Chekavar in a film that dives into folklore and tells the tale of traditional warriors from northern Kerala. The movie features some intense action scenes focused on Kalaripayattu martial arts. During these sequences, the actors wielded real metal weapons that were pretty heavy, as Mammootty shared in a recent conversation with Ramesh Pisharody. He recounted a moment when he got hurt while trying to catch a sword.
"I had to leap to grab a sword, but I missed, and it ended up piercing my thigh. It was a deep cut, and the pain was really bad," he explained.
Even with the injury, Mammootty pushed through the filming since the wound wasn’t visible on camera. "I still have the scar," he added.
