The first week of March is loaded with awesome options for anyone eager to catch the latest Malayalam films, whether on OTT platforms or in theaters. This year’s first big hit, Rekhachithram, featuring Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan, is finally hitting OTT, and there’s also a new film starring Indrajith Sukumaran. In theaters, you can check out two family dramas and a horror-drama led by Kannada actor Kishore and Shruthy Menon.

Rekhachithram

Sony LIV is dropping a new show on March 7.

The story kicks off when an alcoholic confesses to a suicide, prompting a police officer to dig into a 40-year-old cold case about a woman who vanished back in 1984, right where Mammootty's Kathodu Kaathoram was filmed. This mystery thriller features Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan in the main roles, along with a bunch of guest appearances.

Njan Kandatha Sare

Things take a wild turn when cab driver Joekuttan heads to the police station to report witnessing the murder of a senior officer. His sister's safety quickly becomes a concern, adding to the chaos. The film features Indrajith Sukumaran, Baiju Santosh, and Mareena Michael in key roles, along with a special appearance by Anoop Menon. . 

Vadakkan

Following a string of mysterious deaths on a reality show, a paranormal investigator from Finland heads to Kerala to uncover the truth. However, they encounter a sinister entity straight out of local folklore. The film features Kannada actor Kishore, along with Shruthy Menon and Merin Philip, known for their work in Sookshamadarshini, in this chilling horror-drama.

In this gripping tale, a 99-year-old father is stuck in bed, and his four sons are anxiously waiting for him to pass away so they can claim his prized diamond ring. As tensions rise, the brothers' relationships are put to the test, leading to a chaotic showdown while their father watches helplessly in his last days. The film features performances by Jagadeesh, Indrans, Prashanth Alexander, and Mottai Rajendran, directed by Ulsav Rajeev. 

Ouseppinte Osiyathu

Director Sarath Chandran RJ's film tells the story of a planter from Idukki and his three sons. As the sons become consumed by greed and ambition, they end up tearing the family apart in their pursuit of their father's wealth. Vijayaraghavan takes on the lead role, with Dileesh Pothan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Lena, and Kani Kusruti rounding out the cast.
