Maidaan OTT Release: Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is a sports biographical drama based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach in India between 1952 and 1962. The film, which was released in theatres on the occasion of Eid locked horns with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. If you are waiting for the film's release on the OTT platform then the wait is now over as Maidaan is all set for its digital premiere after just two months of its theatrical release, but there's a catch. 

When and where to watch Maidaan on OTT?

Maidaan, which is directed by Amit Sharma and is based on the real-life story of a man who is known as the architect of modern Indian football is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting today, May 22, 2024. The film is now available in Hindi on Prime Video for rental at Rs 349. 

Earlier, while speaking about the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, Ajay Devgn revealed that he was shocked when he heard the story for the first time. He said, "Apart from being a great story, I never knew that something like that had happened in our country and football had reached its peak and only because of, I can’t say one man but one man and these players who changed the course of football in the 50s and 60s. In fact, I was shocked and surprised this would have happened and there is a person like him and that was the first thing that this story needs to be told."

Apart from Ajay Devgn, who plays the on-screen version of Rahim, the film also features Priyamani, and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles. The film is scripted and directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, with production helmed by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. The movie was released in cinemas on 11th April 2024.
